Elvia 90, went home on November 2, from Bayley Place in Cincinnati, Ohio. Elvia was born on April 21 in Bonnie Blue, Virginia, to Melvin and Pearl Roark. In 1946, Elvia married the love of her life, Glenn Allen. Glenn and Elvia were happily married for 22 years.
Elvia was a born-again Christian and was member of the Bridge of Hope Church of God in Cincinnati, Ohio. Elvia loved animals and enjoyed gardening. She was also quite the country cook.
Elvia is survived by her three daughters, Glenda (Gary) McWhorter, Linda Sue Bolin, and Brenda (Gregory) Kuhn. She is also “Mamaw” to seven grandchildren and “Big Mamaw” to nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Pearl, and four siblings.
Services for Elvia Allen will be held at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road. Elvia’s visitation will begin at 2:00, with the funeral following at 3:00. Elvia will later be buried in her beloved Pennington Gap, Virginia, next to her husband Glenn Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Alzheimer’s and Brain Research Center, 644 Linn Street #1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
