Geraldine “Gerri” Mae (Nee: Vogt) Wilkens was called to heaven Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 78. She is the beloved wife of 60 years to Michael D. Wilkens and devoted mother of Chris and John Wilkens, Cathy (Rick) Watson, and Michelle (Doug) McPhillips. Grandmother of Ben, Sara, Alex, Ricky, Jennifer, Ellen, Connor and Lindsey. Great-grandmother of Bradley, Blake, Benny, and Nora. Dearest sister of Marlene Koeninger, Tom (Nancy) Vogt, Audrey Thompson, Linda Greiner, Sharon Lambert; sister-in-law of Nevada Gilby. She was predeceased by her sister Joan (Don) Donaldson and brother and sister-in-law Larry and Jan Vogt and brother-in-law Gill Gilby.

She was born March 12, 1940 to the late Lawrence and Irma Vogt and grew up in Camp Washington and was the 4th of eight children. She attended Our Lady of Angels High School in St. Bernard. The majority of her working career has been a Manager at Burke Marketing Research where she retired. Geri was an active member of St. Aloysius of the Ohio Church. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and flower gardening. She loved her family and put her family first.

Visitation will take place Friday, June 1st, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, Ohio (513-451-8800). Visitation will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius on the Ohio (134 Whipple St, Cincinnati, OH 45233, at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or St. Aloysius on the Ohio.

My condolences to the family of Geraldine. It is obvious from the many kind expressions, tat Geraldine will be sorely missed. May the promise found at Psalms 147:3 bring comfort and strength during this most difficult time. “He heals the broken-hearted. He binds up their wounds.

I am very sorry for your loss. Gerri was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor who was a great asset to Burke. I truly enjoyed the years that I worked with Gerri.

Gerri was my boss at Burke for almost 10 years. She was the best manager that I could have ever asked for. She was not only my employer but my friend. I will miss her dearly and always think of her fondly.
