Leo “Lee” A., of Cincinnati OH, beloved husband of Betty (nee Wolfer) for 70 years, passed away on July 21,2020 at the age of 92 years while in Hospice Care at Mercy West Hospital. Loving father of Stephen (Bridget), Daniel
(Maureen), Susan (Bo) Staft, David (deceased) and Nancy (Pete) Kunka. Devoted grandfather of fourteen and great grandfather of twelve. Preceded in death by his two siblings, George and Rosemary (Wolfer). Leo is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Leo joined the U.S. Army after graduating from Elder High School in 1946. After basic training he was stationed in Pusan, Korea, at the end of WWII. He returned home December 1947 and was honorably discharged.
Leo and Betty met after his return from the Army and were married at Our Lady of Victory Church on May 30,1950. They shared a long and loving life together and
loved to travel. They enjoyed many trips including Hawaii, Europe, cruises, and numerous bus tours. Leo joined the Cincinnati Fire Department in 1952 and
was stationed at 8th and Burns, eventually transferring to the Price Hill station on Glenway just before a heart attack forced his retirement from the department in 1969. He was able to continue working after his departure from the
fire department, including Swallen’s, Imex, and the Hamilton County Board of Education.
Visitation will be Monday, July 27th from 9:30 AM -10:30 AM at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, 45233,451-8800 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 11:00 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 810 Neeb Road,45233. Graveside Service to follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery.
