Linda J. Lay

Lay

Linda Joy (nee: Klosterman) sadly and unexpectedly passed on August 30, 2018 after complications from cancer. Lyn was born to Walter “Bud” Klosterman and Mary E. “Betty” Griffin on August 26, 1947. She is preceded in death by first husband, Kenneth L Schaich, her husband Douglas Lay, her grandkids Brooke and Logan and her Parents. She is the Loving Mother to Colleen Schaich (Josh) Smallwood; and the Beloved Grandma to Mason, Addison and Gracie Smallwood. She is the Adored Sister to Sandra (Dave) Sabatelli, the Cherished Aunt to Angela (Rick) Meese, Kristina (Ken) Rielag, and Jennifer Sabatelli. Beloved Great Aunt to Nicholas & Kylie Rielag, Lauren and Jacob Meese and Natalie Sabatelli.

Lyn absolutely adored all of her family, but, most especially, her grandson, Mason. He was the light and miracle in her life who gave her the strength to fight and be with us a little longer. She had a passion for painting and the paintings she has given us we will cherish forever. She also loved shopping, crafting, and sitting on the beach in Hilton Head doing word searches and listening to the crashing waves. She also loved music, in fact, if you were to peek in at her - you might see her dancing alone in the kitchen. Lyn and Sandy might have been the best lady duo for Jitterbugging. She and Doug could be found every year at the Daytona 500 cheering on Dale Earnhardt Jr. Doug could always be seen sporting a “Lyn’s What Nots” hat; to support her crafting business. She loved her precious dog Bella. If you knew Lyn, you automatically loved her outgoing personality and love for life. Her smile was infectious and her kisses and hugs unforgettable. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday Sept. 4 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Radel Funeral Home 650 Neeb Rd. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday Sept 5 at 12:00pm at the funeral home. 451-8800 or www.radelfuneral.com

In lieu of flowers a donation in Lyn’s honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
