Phillip “Gene” beloved husband of 55 years to Mary (Nee: Furey) Marcum. Loving father of Carrie (Joe) Mirizzi, Penny Davidson and Michael (Jackie) Marcum. Devoted grandfather of Sam, Tony (Fiancee Brittany) and Andrew Mirizzi, Jake Davidson, Carly (Tommy) Osowski and Michael Marcum. Dear great-grandfather of Mia Mirizzi and Julia Osowski. Passed away peacefully with family on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the age of 84 years. He retired from The Cincinnati Enquire after 48 years as a printer. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd, 451-8800. Burial will take place Monday, August 24, 2020 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Road, 45238. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hoxworth Blood Center, Financial Services, University of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 670055, 45267-0055 or Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Gene blessed our lives with his laughter, his smile, and the way he lived night shift as a normal accepted lifestyle. He entered our lives as Carrie's parent but also as our friend He seem like an older brother. He was fun, played with our kids and passed down his swimming pool chuckling. He knew how much work it would be to move it. When we think of Gene it’s impossible not to think of Carrie. Her kind. caring ,loving, humble heart is his legacy. He will be missed. Rest In Peace dear friend
